Glossary – basics

Calculations: A feature whose value can be dynamically set from either other Feature property, custom formula, or custom TypeScript code.

Canvas: A 1:1 real-time interface which enables the user to position elements within the configurator. It displays what the end user will see.

Content Elements: Elements that enable styling and placing additional information, like info boxes and images.

Copy/Paste TSV: A functionality enabling the user to copy all the data from a Data Sheet and paste it into a Spreadsheet/Excel document, or vice versa.

Custom HTML: A Multi-layered Media Visualization which allows for custom HTML to be visible in the Media section of the Configurator’s Layout. Files need to be uploaded in a .zip format.

Drag & Drop: Term used for clicking to grab an element in the Toolbox and dropping/placing it onto the Canvas.

Filters: Multi-conditional statements which allow for narrowing down rows of Options from a Data Sheet based on the end user’s previous choices/decisions.

Folder: Structural element that allows users to group features in the configuration model and BOM.

Guided Selling: Guided Selling provides customers with customized recommendations or suggestions to assist them in making purchasing decisions. Guided Selling aims to help customers find the products that best meet their needs. You can use it as a sales assistant who asks the customer questions based on a structured process and makes recommendations based on their answers.
